Ready to order? There are few things you should know in advance.
Below are rather "technical" advises to you / your studio engineer what you should be aware of before we will create some music together.
Looking for the Mastering?
You can attend personally during the mastering session or use a faster option of the online mastering (Cebin only). At any case, please have your tracks ready in format at least 44kHz/24bit and also keep on mind that I will need enough headroom to do my job - tracks which are already close to 0dB give me very limited options to master your track/s. Please note that I cannot do much with MP3/Flac/wma etc formats. In case that you decided to attend personally, please ring me prior to placing your order to find time slot for you. If you would like to send tracks then please use ideally www.wetransfer.com or simmilar service for the track upload. Once you do so, please send me also separate e-mail on email@example.com (you can do it via clicking on my e-mail address - just click and send it - you don't have to type any text).
We will discuss the rest over the phone / e-mail or personally. I will ask you questions such as : what is going to be radio single, what music you like etc.
Once I am done, I will send you 30 secs of each track for your review. You can comment your tracks and I will eventually adjust your track until you are satisfied. Once this is cleared, your payment has to be done. Once your payment is done I will release your tracks in full quality.
Looking for the recording studio?
If you are looking for the fancy, posh looking recording studio, go to next door. I am focused on the alternative music and look of my studio is rather "alternative." But this is not in the conflict of the sound quality. Simply - Postudio is different. I offer also live recording, recording at your place, your rehearsal room etc. At any case there are basic things which you should know before we will push the red button.
Drummers : Please try to practise with the metronome - recording along to BPM click makes the rest of the recording/mixing process way easier and I can focus more on sound than just fixing your mistakes.
Guitarists : Consider whether you want to record your "own" sound from your amp, combo etc. or you are open to experiment with your sound. Tell me what guitarists you like, what sound you like.
Bassists : There is not much hassle with bassists in general.
Singers: To save you few bucks, try to sing before you will come to the studio. This will save your time and loads of hassle for you. Try to learn all lyrics by heart before you are in the studio if possible. This will help you to focus on the singing. Your arms will be free from any paper holding or your eyes won't be forced to read the text. This will again save your time (and money) and we can spend time on the best musical result. I prefer to give you just two takes of the recording, I know we are in digital age and can edit it from 100 takes .. but are we still musicians then? :)
Looking for the great mix of your tracks?
I can accept any track quality but the best would be Wav: 24bit/44kHz or above. Yes, I can work with the worse quality but this will limit me to get the really best performance on your mix. If your recording studio works with Cubase then please zip whole project files and folders (studio engineer should know how to do it) into one zip file and send via to firstname.lastname@example.org. If the recording studio uses different DAW, they can use also OMF format as optional. What works across any DAW platform is to export every single track - BUT they all have to start at the same point (for example - if you have solo from 2:05 to 2:20 your solo track has to be exported from 0:00 to at least 2:20 no matter there will be silence from 0:00 to 2:05).
We will discuss the rest over the phone / e-mail or personally. I will need to know what do you expect from mix, if you reffer to any track you like etc.
Once I am done, I will let you know and we will meet in the studio for review or I will share the preview track in MP3 format only (if there are more tracks ordered then I will send you only one at the time only). You can comment your tracks and I will eventually adjust your track until you are satisfied. Once this is cleared, your payment has to be done. Once your payment is done I will release your tracks in full quality.
